Re: Holiday Big Game « Result #4 on Dec 14, 2009, 3:02pm »
not with jon boy at the helm of the game, I dont think it would have mattered, we would have just alienated ourselves from skyline if we complained to much...but it was utter horse crap! The 6 of us could have taken on the odds perfectly fine!!!
The rest of the skyline staff is just going to have to learn how to play scenario ball when we are not there. I know strait up that our team isnt planning on hitting to many big games from skyline next year...unless they are 24 hr games of course. I have no problem putting on "A" game for them to help out and get the experience, but we have done skyline to death over the past 3-4 years now...its past time to spread our wings...

As usual, nice playing with guys again. You wouldve thought with just 6 of us, 4 Fury and 2 STAG we couldve rolled together. I think we couldve made the case if we really pushed hard enough and stacked the odds against us... oh well it was still great being out there regardless.
I guess I should go hose down my marker and hopper now, what a mess.

ya, radios can be one of those help ya/hurt ya things if you dont keep the amount of chatter in check. At least there were missions this year. Kept the game fun and interesting.
Are you still interested in seeing what warplay is like??? Ive sent them an email, and they say that the 14th would be a great day to come out, they are celebrating the "marine" birthday, and are selling paint at 40/45 that day, rather then the 50 they have listed. should bring out a crowd and ensure something to shoot at.
Good job out there guys. We all had a lot of fun with this one. It was nice just running around and battling against you all. Amazing what radio's can do, wish we wouldve used ours.

Saw this topic and decided to share my experience of that day. I was driving into work (Washington D.C.) that morning and remember the inital report being a small aircraft hitting one of the towers. After getting to work, the report was updated as a commercial airliner. I swear the very first thing I thought was a terrorist attack. Sometime afterwards (cant remember timing much) the second plane hit. We were watching live t.v. in a conference room on a small black and white as both towers were burning then as one started to fall. A coworker of mine then yelled out to us as he watched another airliner flying very low and appeard to be circling around 395/Crystal City area before making its final turn then dropping out of view. A few moments later the ground shook and we saw a larger black cloud rise from what was the Pentagon. It was very scary. Our management staff was in P.A. for a meeting and started calling us on landlines to tell us to get out of D.C. Rumors then began coming out that they also hit the Capitol and one coming for White House. Not sure how these rumors got started but after seeing what we had, we believed it and began scrambling. My car was parked in our garage underground and took me an hour just to get out. Cell phones were useless and could not get intouch with my family. A truly terrifying site once I got out of the garage to see everyone running everywhere in mass panic. I remember as I was just getting onto 395 a very loud roar above my head. I thought it was another airliner but learned later that fighter jets were storming by. I was like, WTF is happening here. I finally got onto 395 and as I crossed the Potomac, I stopped on the shoulder to see the side of the Pentagon in a blaze of fire and smoke. I later learned that the plane that went down in Pa, the co-pilot was my neighbors brother.

Its been 8 years since 9/11. I was only 10 at the time but it is the event that truly made me push to join the military. Where were you when it happened? how did you react?
